[Hide Comment] The proper approach ramp can be seen from the Cape Royal lookout by looking directly south (can’t miss the break in the coconino). The start of the first rappel can also be seen poking out below from this lookout.
We didn’t pay attention to the directions and ended up scrambling up/down/all around the other ramp that is directly east of the Cape Royal lookout. This other ramp similarly has a bivy site above it, has a short rappel that can be avoided by down climbing a secure chimney, and an 80’ rappel off of a solid pine tree. At the bottom of this other ramp is a large chock stone that can be used for another 80’ rappel, which could drop you right onto the shale near the upper Vishnu creek drainage saddle. Trade off for the more direct approach would be a second rope to jug at the end of the day. Maybe best to not trust those that can’t follow clear directions though.
