Description
This area has seen mostly top rope climbing over the years, but was recently developed for lead sport climbing in 2020. The climbing is generally on shorter cliffs with routes about 5 to 6 bolts long. Except for Raising the Roof, all are sport routes. The area gets morning sun and can be quite warm in July and August. Cliff jumping into Wall lake should help with this!
Getting There
OPTION 1
Start at the Trial lake area. Before you get to Bald Mt. pass, turn left at the Trial Lake turn off. Make a quick right turn and head up a short hill to a small parking area at Trial Lake. Walk west (left) crossing the dam and follow a trail that parallels the lake heading North. Follow the trail for 20+ minutes to Wall Lake. From here you can see the upper tier. Scramble to the left side of the lake, passing the main lower tier of rock, near a popular cliff jumping spot. A short hike across a meadow gets you to the climbing.
OPTION 2
From the Trial Lake turn off, keep driving to the Crystal Lake trail head. From here there are many trail heads. The wall lake trail head is the first one you get to on the right or East. Take this to Wall Lake. Option 2 has better parking and is slightly faster.
