Description
**13,252 ft (4,040 m)**
Gendarme Peak is part of the Inconsolable Range north of the Palisades. The peak is defined by four prominent gendarmes that punctuate its northeast ridge.
Getting There
The peak is generally accessed via Bishop's South Lake trailhead or the North Fork of Big Pine Creek. The former takes Jigsaw Pass through the crest between Picture Puzzle and Aperture peaks. If done in the colder months with snow, this approach can be treacherous. The latter follows the lake basin along the North Fork trail. This is much more straightforward, but is longer and gains more elevation.
