Description
The Ironton Unit is home to two great climbing areas in the Wayne National Forest- Lake Vesuvius and Symmes Creek. Lake Vesuvius has a variety of bouldering and roped climbing options situated near the lake. Definitely check out this area in the fall to take in the gorgeous fall colors while out climbing. Symmes Creek has lots of great potential for development of both roped climbing and bouldering, though nothing has been documented on MP yet. It is important to note that bolting is not allowed anywhere within the Wayne National Forest, though you will find some old bolted routes, especially in the Lake Vesuvius area.
