Description
The Wayne National Forest in SE Ohio is home to a lot of great sandstone climbing. In the Marietta and Athens units, you'll find lots of great bouldering, and the Ironton unit is home to Lake Vesuvius which has a variety of bouldering and roped climbing options.
Getting There
The Wayne National Forest is located in the southeastern portion of the state, and directions vary depending on which part of the Wayne you are hoping to visit.
Bolting Prohibited on Wayne National Forest Lands
Though you will find some historic bolted routes within the Wayne National Forest boundaries, bolting is prohibited all areas of the Wayne NF. Please respect this rule and help preserve access to these great climbing areas.
