Description

If Swope Park and Cliff Drive had an chossy lovechild. A great overhang rock, you can see from the road even in mid summer with all the veg. Unfortunately this beauty is stained in black soot from all the campfires. The rock is stereotypical Missouri, brittle and slimy. Shoutout to Troop 16 for keeping the trails spotless, and Roanoke/KC parks for preserving this hidden gem. I'm definitely not the first person to climb this area, and hope the area will some day become more developed/well know in KC.

Getting There

The approach is the best part. Park in the neighborhood to the south on W Roanoke Drive. A guard rail and sign mark the entry. You can also park in the community center, and take the Layover trail north to the point.
