The Rio Grande Wall lies east of the Panhandle. The wall hosts five moderate routes. While many will argue that these routes are sport routes because they are protecting soley by bolts, these are traditionally bolted routes with lengthy runouts on crumbly slabs. Rio Grande Wall receives morning sun and some late afternoon shade.
Approach as for the Panhandle, but continue traversing east along the base for 70 yards past Rawhide and the northmost end of the Panhandle. Alternately, make two rappels to the base of the Rio Grande Wall from an anchor in the huge bowl situated at the top of the wall. The first rappel is short (40 ft) to rings. The second rappel is longer (90 ft). This anchor is at the extreme east end and behind The Diner formation.
