Description
The North Face of Rib Rock is expansive and has been separated here by routes that fall above or below the steep cave known as "The Ribcage".
This wall comprises some of the most continually steep rock at the crags aside from the Wizard's Gate. Recent development has yielded quality lines in the 5.12 range that are well worth the hike. Climbers have been visiting this wall for decades, and there are many other great unlisted routes downhill from the cave that should be explored during your visit. Helmets are advised.
Getting There
If the Rib Cage is your sole destination for the day, it is best accessed via a trail that breaks off from the trail to the Woodstone. This trail stays low in the forest crossing under slot rock until you are underneath the gully between Rib Rock and Mid Rib. From here, scramble up through talus until you reach the base of a steep wall on your right (the left side of Rib Rock).
