Description Suggest change

Mount Bonneville is a steep and complex mass of pinnacles situated at the head of the East Fork Valley. There are no non-technical routes to the top. The East Face is reportedly the easiest line and serves as the standard descent route.

Getting There Suggest change

The East Face of Mount Bonneville is approached from the highest lake in the East Fork Valley. Start at Big Sandy Opening and hike 13 miles of maintained trail to Dads Lake, Marms Lake, Skull Lake, Maes Lake and then Pyramid Lake. The trail ends at Pyramid Lake. Drop down into the East Fork on the north side of Midsummer Dome and stroll a few miles up the East Fork Valley to the lake near its head.

There are a multitude of long, moderate routes on Bonneville's West Face, none of which I have climbed. These all start from Bonneville Basin, which can be accessed by hiking up and over the pass between Raid Peak and Mount Bonneville from the upper East Fork. Alternatively, follow trails from Big Sandy Opening to Raid Lake and then an unofficial but well-trodden path to Bonneville Lakes. This approach is roughly 20 miles.
