Description
While the Okertal known for its granite crags, this north-facing quarry consists of metamorphically altered sedimentary rocks ("hornfels") that overlay the granite. The area hosts a handful of ~12m long sport climbing routes and a via ferrata (maintained by the alpine club Goslar).
Getting There
Take B498 from Oker towards Altenau and park on the right side of the road near the south end of Oker (~Waldhaus and the beginning of the Okertal). Head east into the forest, take a left at the first intersection and stay right afterwards (dead end forest road leads you to the quarry).
