Klapanunggal Rock Climbing

Klapanunggal (on google maps), or Kelapa Nunggal or Klapa Nunggal. For Jabotabek climbers in the 80s, this was the spot. Deden Sutrisna (aka Deden Depok) and his crew from the climbing club GRADE put up almost all the early testpieces. Many climbers who lived too far from the Bandung/Citatah area for a Sunday trip cut their teeth here (back then we only had one day weekends). There used to be mainly two cliffs, tebing depan and tebing belakang, and a spelunking spot down the road. Now tebing depan has been destroyed by mining but there are some other areas that have opened up and are being developed, notably the Arpam Arch with a mix of fun limestone moderates and some super hard new climbs into the roof of the arch.
