Description Suggest change

I'm not sure many people are aware this place exists. There is some rather interesting potential for hard technical face/slab climbs potentially into the 5.13 range, 1 lone 100' route that begins in a giant grotto and climbs all the way to the summit, several impressive (albeit short ~45') splitter roof climbs on bullet stone and the potential for a handfull of very classic and difficult boulder problems.

Getting There Suggest change

This area is best reached either coming in from Paris, AR heading south on Highway 309 and then turning east (left) onto Spring Lake Road and continuing over Shoal Creek for approx 10miles to Eickleberry Rd.

-OR-

Come from Dardanelle/Chickalah on Highway 27, continue southwest on Highway 27 through Chickalah and turn right on 307 at the Second "Y" after passing through Chickalah. 307 will turn into 36 then 39 as you pass around Spring Lake. Stay left at the first "Y" (439) and you will come to a intersection with 35. Turn north (right) on 35 and continue up the mountain into Forest Service land. 35 will join with 431 and continue west stay left at the next "Y" and continue due west on 25 (Spring Lake Rd) @ ~1.4 miles you will come to a pseudo 4-way intersection. Turn North (right) onto Eickleberry Rd and continue with the directions below.

Turn North on Eickleberry Road and drive essentially due north, staying left at the first major "Y" and heading straight (north) through the 4-way. Park in a clearing near a small pond and walk due west to the overlook. Roads can get very muddy after rains or snow melt.
