This is an obscure granite doms are nestled deep up Goose Creek. It currently offer easy, adventurous and enjoyable trad routes with potential for many harder lines. The views from the summit is oneof the best in the state as it overlooks hundreds of smaller granite formations in the valley. The climbing involves crack or slab climbing on well-featured Pike's Peak granite. Perhaps the only downside to this formations is the long approach (~5-6 miles one-way). On the plus note, you can expect solitude on these climbs.

Getting There Suggest change

To reach Point 9,242 aka The Guardian of Lost Creek, begin from the Goose Creek Trailhead (39.1727, -105.3762), and hike 4.3 miles north on the Goose Creek Trail until you're directly east of Point 9,242. Your departure from the trail is approximately 0.4-0.5 mile past the sign for the historical buildings spur trail (~3.9 miles from the TH).

Leave the Goose Creek Trail, and hike/dodge large boulders directly west for 0.3 mile to the base of Point 9,242.
