Access Issue: Eco Camp Private Property Details

Once you arrive at the sand, walk 200 meters down the beach, turn left and walk 200 meters up the river bed, turn left and follow a trail directly to the main cliff face. This roundabout approach will hopefully help climbers avoid conflicts with the the Eco Camp dogs (one bit a climber during our stay), along with the Eco Camp employees who threatened to remove the bolts if non-camping climbers walk through the private property.

Description

Garden of Eden is a 40 meter wide × 40 meter tall section of gray, brown and orange limestone. There are 7+ sport routes with grades that range from 4b to 6c and room for more development on either side of the sector. The left routes are short and moderate while the right side is made up of longer and more technical climbs. This cliff is southeast facing and enjoys a great deal of sunshine on the clear days making it a good destination for the cooler months

Getting There

Garden of Eden is located on the southeast facing wall of the canyon. It is only a couple hundred meters away from the beach but the Eco Camp owner requesting non clients to walk around the property. The approach involves crossing the beach and walking up the stream bed for 200 meters. Then turn left and walk 200 meters to the cliff face. Turn left and walk another 70 m along the base of the cliff and outer edge of the field to reach the sector. Fortunately this corkscrew shaped approach only adds a couple extra minutes of flat and easy walking.

This beach, riverbed, cliff roundabout approach will hopefully help avoid climber conflict with the Eco Camps dogs, that bit one of the climbers during our stay, along with the Eco Camp employees / owner?? who threatened to remove the bolts if non camping climbers walk through the private property. )
