Description
Quiet and lonely bouldering area a bit above the main Culp area in Anza Borrego State Park. A variety of mostly good quality High Desert granite blocks strewn across a large area of chaparral. See Jasper Boulders - Allied Climbers of San Diego for more info and a nice map.
Though a lot has been climbed in the area, a lot remains to be explored. With only a few established trails, please be mindful of the fragility of the landscape.
Getting There
Access via the Jasper Trail.
Between Ranchita and Culp Valley proper watch for dirt road (easy to miss when coming from the west) heading south from S22. The main area is about 2 miles down a (as of Nov 2020) well graded dirt road, passing a small spur road or two, and continuing straight though a 4-way junction with Old Culp Valley Road to a small parking area on the right. There are also a number of smaller clusters scattered around.
