Pic De L'áliga (Sant Andreu De la Barca)

International > Europe > Spain > Catalonia

Description

A sector near Barcelona with about 100 routes. The climbs are divided between two walls on either side of a road. So you can always find climbs whether you are chasing shade or sun. There are a variety of grades from 5.7-5.12d (4-7c), although the vast majority of climbs are in the mid 5.10 to mid 5.11 (6a-6c+) range. Almost all of the climbs are pretty short, usually 15 meters or less, but a few are a bit taller. The rock seems to be a bit sharper and less polished than other well-traveled crags in Catalonia.

Getting There

Here is the google maps location for the parking, use in combination with the directions below: goo.gl/maps/MEm9hCJ2qmYjgETHA

Drive towards Sant Andreu De La Barca via the town of Palleja. At the entrance to the town there is a roundabout with a large 'Sant Andreu De La Barca' sign. At the roundabout turn left (3rd exit), pass over a bridge that goes over the train tracks and just after you'll come up to a school on your left. Turn left after the school. Continue along this road passing through the small Urbanización Soleia. Eventually you will reach a triangle turn formation on your right. Turn up the road to the right at the triangle. Follow this road (5-10 minutes) until you reach the small climbing parking area on the right side of the road (you will see walls on the right and left side of the road). If you get lost, rely on the google map pin.
