Alam Kooh North Face

Description

The north face of Alam kooh is the largest rock formation in the area with the most and oldest routes on it. It does not get too much sun and is usually cold. For most of the climbs you need to cross the Alam Chal Glacier which involves easy but icy climbing at parts. The wall in (in)famous for its rock falls which had resulted in injuries and even loss of lives. The best months to climb the wall is in late July and August. 

Getting There

To access the north face of Alam Kooh  you will need to walk to Sarchal Shelter and then to Alamchal ruined shelter (you need tents). It will take half a day to a day to get here.

For getting back to Alam Chal from the top of Alam Kooh, you walk toward East, pas multiple peaks including Shakhaks and also Siah Sangha shelter and descend from the second prominent gully. It is important to know this gully, since the earlier ones are danguios to descend from.
