Description

While somewhat short in stature, the Brevity Wall offers some quality lines from 5.11 to 5.12. The limestone here is heavily water featured and mostly vertical, providing lots of crimps, shallow pockets and water runnels. The wall faces north and receives all-day shade, with spring and fall being the best times to visit (target temps in Mesquite between 70-90 degrees).

Getting There

Approach as for the Wall of Misfortune and Campsite Canyon and continue driving on Sheep Pens Rd for roughly .1 miles past the turnoff for Campsite Canyon. Park on the side of Sheep Pens Rd before it begins to climb and switchback toward the cell towers, and locate the faint climbers trail heading West through sagebrush and cactus. After 100 yards or so the trail will join with a large, obvious wash. Continue West along this wash, which will bring you to the base of the Brevity Wall. Total hike time is approx. 20-25 minutes.
