Description Suggest change

A beautiful alpine lake guarded by a relatively flat 2.5ish mile approach. There are numerous boulders and cliffs (generally 50ft or less) scattered around the lake that may interest a climber, especially if they are amenable to mossy, single pitch splitters and boulders in a spectacular setting. A good brush and a nut tool for cleaning out cracks would not go unused.

The obvious cliff that immediately catches the eye is the golden south facing wall on the east side of the lake: there are three bolts of unknown origin on top of this cliff. If anyone has information on these bolts, the routes beneath them, or climbing history in general at Lake Margaret I would be curious to know! I'm going to call this the East Cliff for organizational purposes.

Getting There Suggest change

The trailhead is just west of the west end of Caples Lake if coming from the east, or a minute or two past the entrance to Kirkwood if coming from the west. There is an obvious sign marking the turn. From the trailhead it is approximately 2.5 miles to the lake. The trail is tricky to follow at times, and there are numerous stream crossings (on good logs); when in doubt, follow the cairns.
