Description Suggest change

This area has no climbing traffic as of now because it is new. Most climbs require some sort of hike, maybe a quarter-mile for the longest, but some you can drive right up to. during the summer it is usually moderately hot (75-95°F). The climbing is accompanied by great views of the beautiful Salmon area.

When driving to the climbs in this area, I would recommend google maps over apple maps. Apple maps will get you there but it has inaccurate travel times through the foothills and will also sometimes take you the extra-long way round. Google maps have been working great for me as I test the directions.

Getting There Suggest change

Although Salmon It's self is easily accessible in any vehicle, some boulders found here will require a 4x4 or high clearance vehicle.

From Missoula Montana direction, follow Highway 93 south over Lost Trail, into Idaho, and continue down 93 until you reach salmon.

From Pocatello Direction, follow I-15 North past Idaho Falls. Take exit 143 for ID-33 toward Rexburg/Salmon and turn left towards Sage Junktion onto Highway 33. After Mud Lake, turn right onto highway 28 and follow it through Leadore and to Salmon.

From Challis, follow Highway 93 north until you reach Salmon.
