Description

The far southern end of Paugnut SF, the southeast-facing slope above the Still River and Winsted Road contains a number of beautiful, but a little bit sharp (at the quartz seams), pink granitic gneiss overhanging boulders and ledges. Many more moderate to difficult routes available. There is some road noise from Winsted Road and Route 8.

Getting There

Route 8 to exit 45, and tuck into the woods behind the small strip mall (across from the Route 8 southbound on-ramp and north of the quarry). Watch out for the bears who regularly raid the dumpsters behind the businesses. There is NO parking in the apartment complex at the northern end of the zone.
