Description
This is one of the coolest rock features on Cape Ann — a deep chasm almost hidden from view until you inside it. In addition to one tall, sheer overhanging wall, there are some smaller walls both in the chasm itself and in the area.
Getting There
This part of the large parcel of public land across from the extensive Thompson St. Reservation.
Park on Bray Street either at the Trustees' parking or at slight dirt pulloff (room for one car) a couple bends before you reach the parking lot (if coming from Rte. 133). A couple hundred yards from the parking lot, a public path (not well marked) leads down and into the woods. Walk along for a little way looking for a stonewall, and follow this left trending toward a hill. Explore. There is house in the vicinity.
Note: the location on the map is approximate.
