Description
A fire lookout tower in the National Forest with great views into Kings Canyon. There are some routes, mostly sport climbs at Buck Rock , as well as some boulders scattered in the area around the rock but most good boulders are just downhill from the routes, to the south (left). Good rock quality and some decent lines here. Summer/fall season after they open the N.F. road.
Getting There
Drive the National Forest roads to Buck Rock Fire Lookout tower. Easy to locate with searching online for maps, or obtaining a park map at the entrance station. Park at the gate (4wd suggested) and finish walking the road to the fire lookout tower. Some years 2wd low clearance vehicles can make it, or just park when it gets bad and hike a little more.
