Access Issue: Seasonal Raptor Closures
Details
Each year, the USFS monitors for raptor nesting.
A pair of golden eagles regularly nest on Bridge Creek Wall. When in effect, starting January 1, PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB or travel within 1/2 mile of Bridge Creek Wall. As a reference, the climb Condorphamine Addiction is just outside of this 1/2 mile buffer, and is OK to climb still. The closure extends through August 15, but there is active monitoring to determine if the seasonal closure can be lifted earlier.
In 2014, there was an active pair of peregrine falcons at Snow Creek Wall, but no official closure was put in effect due to the location of the falcons. The site will be continually monitored with changes or removal of closures updated as necessary.

Description
All these boulders are at the base of Icicle Buttress. Although most of the climbs are highball, Batman V8 and Throwin' the Houlihan V4 are much less heady. There is also some recent development across the river, with water level dependent access.
Getting There
These are all at the base of Icicle Buttress 6.3 to 6.4 miles past Icicle Junction. After you arrive at the Straightaway Boulders, keep driving and the road will swerve left around the buttress and then back to the right. After it starts going back right, on the right side of the road at the base of the buttress, there is a short parking area and a small corridor directly above where you can see the beginning of Batman V8. If you drove past the faded red telephone marker on the right side of the road, you went too far; it is, however, a landmark for Throwin' the Houlihan, which is across the road (on the riverside) from the marker. The Whip Boulder is across the street from Batman, and the approach trail is short, steep, and will skirt down on the right side of the Whip. You can also see the Dock from the road above the Whip Boulder, a hundred meters or so in the distance, and it is recognizable from the "dock" landing made of driftwood. Walk down canyon to find the rocky approach trail.
