The Monastery

Washington > Central-E Casca… > Leavenworth > Icicle Creek > Fourth of July Area
Warning Access Issue: Seasonal Raptor Closures DetailsDrop down

Description

A mostly slabby cliff but with a huge roof and 2 routes that go up either side of that roof.
Descent: either walk off to your right or you can rappel from a tree on top back to your belay and reverse the 4th class back down.

Getting There

Follow the path toward Bedrock noting the giant roof of the Monastery cliff above. After crossing the ravine head straight uphill toward that roof. The routes are approached from the right side of cliff. Two different 4th class approaches, marked by cairns, can reach a gear belay under the roof. Some people may want a belay for this 4th class approach.
