Description
Tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains of central Virginia sits a little know place called Amherst County. Amherst has been a place with mostly fishing, hunting and farming as its outdoor outlets, but it is now on the move toward bigger things. With the help of Amherst recreations and parks, the Amherst Mountain Bike Club and Climbers for Christ Lynchburg, Amherst is beginning to develop into a mountain athletes playground. Amherst boast thousands of acres of GWNF and the Blue Ridge Parkway to the West, along with 25+ miles of Appalachian Trail. This makes for amazing development possibilities and future climbing potential.
