Description
The Tulsa area contains a variety of rock including sandstone and limestone. Typically just bouldering height, though a few areas offer roped climbing. The limestone around Chandler Park is mostly high quality, though in other areas nearby it can be softer. The sandstone in NE Oklahoma is generally soft and will require multiple days to dry out after rain.
Development and FAs
Climbers have been exploring most of the crags in this region for decades longer than Mountain Project has even been around. Please get to know each area and the locals before adding climbs as your own FA or even as an unknown FA with a name you made up so you could add it to MP. It’s important to respect and appreciate each area’s unique history. On that note, not every climb needs to be listed on MP. This is especially true with variations and eliminates of classic lines.
