Description Suggest change

Recently-bolted crag, with a lot of routes in the 5.10 range, and some short hard 12-13s. The rock is in the sun all day, and the new limestone is grippy, if a bit sharp. Bolts are close together, and so are the routes. it is entirely possible to start on one route, and accidentally finish on another.

Getting There Suggest change

From A10 motorway take exit at Albenga, and continue on SP582 towards Martinetto. In martinetto take a left turn to SP14. After 6.1km, turn right on Via Pennavaire towards Veravo (the sign at the turnoff also lists Bausu-climbing, but we didn't notice it the first time. the sign for Veravo is obvious). After approximately 2.9km, you will arrive into the village of Veravo. Drive through the village, looking for the church on the right side, and a parking sign. turn right into the driveway at the parking sign, and park behind the church.

Follow a red wooden arrow (with no words written on it) to the start of the wide pebbled path that leads through the village, and uphill through the olive groves. The path is marked with red triangles, but they aren't always easy to spot. Follow the path uphill, until it crosses a dirt road. There would be a sign for Bausu pointing right at this point. Take the dirt road right for about 150m. Right before a stream, there would be an obvious cairned cobbled path leaving the road uphill on the left, with a sign for Bausu, Garda, and Galera. The steep uphill path switches back-and-forth for a while, until reaching a junction with sign posts for Bausu on the left, and Garda/Galera on the right. Take the right side (now marked with red squares), and the path will shortly cross another dirt road. Walk on the dirt road right about 10m, to another cairned path heading uphill. Continue uphill to another split of the path, with signs for Garda/Galera left/uphill, and other crags right/flat. After this split, the trail is marked with yellow circles. Couple minutes later, the trail splits again, Garda right, Galera left. Take the trail for Galera, and follow the trial uphill for additional 7-10 minutes. There is one more split of the trail, without signs, choose the left fork.

The trail eventually leads to the right side of La Galena.
