When coming from south you will clearly see and encounter many walls with ice. It is a very nice place!
Approaching the walls after parking on the road side. La Mer de Glace is one of the most popular area to climb at. It hosts classics climbs like "La Mer de Glace, WI3" and "Small is Beautiful, WI4".

Getting There
From Montreal to Shannahan kiosk:
-Take Autoroute 40 to exit 236 (50.0 km)
-Take QC-354 E and Rang Saint Jacques to Rang Saguenay in Saint-Raymond (78.0 km) and turn left onto 2e Av/QC-159, follow QC-159 N (2.6 km)
-Turn right onto Rang du Rapide N/QC-354 E and continue to follow QC-354 E (11.0 km), then turn right onto Rue Tessier E/QC-354 E/QC-363 S
-Turn right onto QC-354 E/QC-363 S to a left turn onto Rue Notre Dame/QC-354 E/QC-363 and continue to follow QC-354 E (24.0 km)
-Turn left onto Route des Cascades and continue onto Rang Saint Jacques (10.0 km)
-Turn right onto Rang Saint Jacques/QC-367 S
-Continue to follow QC-367 S (5.0 km) and turn left onto Rue Monseigneur-Vachon (2.0 km), continue onto Rang du N. (3.0 km) to a left turn into
-Turn left onto Rang Saguenay and drive 20 mins to reach Shannahan kiosk.
