Description Suggest change

This newly developed crag offers fantastic climbing, an easy approach, and beautiful scenery with very enjoyable camping. The stone is the perfect limestone; mostly fluted runnels with occasional golden streaks. There is a great selection of moderates, which consist of slabs, vertical jug hauls, and a few juggy overhangs. Most of the lines were put up as mixed routes, with bolts placed only where solid natural protection was not available, so make sure you have experience placing gear. Otherwise, all top ropes can easily be rigged via a short rappel from the tree above. It’s hard to tell how good the routes are from the ground, which likely caused the place to go undeveloped until recently, despite its visibility presiding over Bridge Gulch Road right before Natural Bridge [closed to climbing!] and High Rock [open to climbing]. Please be respectful in this region and keep a low impact.

Getting There Suggest change

2.75 hour drive from Arcata, and 1.5 hours from Redding or Red Bluff. There are so many ways to get here depending on your starting location; it’s best to check the map for yourself. In short, you’ll want to find yourself on Wildwood Road. From most directions, you’ll drive 4.9 miles south on Wildwood Road to 31N19. If passing thrugh Red Bluff, you would drive 12.7 miles north along Wildwood Road. Once on 31N19, drive 0.9 miles to the base of the drainage below the wall to the north.
