Description

Easy Access, can drive to the top at 7,985 feet with a vehicle on a gravel road. Huge ancient shield volcano with enormous obsidian flow.

Getting There

On Highway 97 from Bend, OR drive 23 miles south, make a left turn on Paulina Lake Road onto the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Drive 13 miles east until you reach a sign on your right that will point you to the peak. You can also hike the Crater Rim Trail, 4.3 miles long 2-3 hours time.
