Description Suggest change

This area has eight multipitches, including the classic Excalibur (6b).

Getting There Suggest change

The approach is badass. From the parking, head straight uphill at the yellow trail marker sign. Eventually you will pick up some steinmann (carins) that will guide you to a reasonable path up the steep grass and rocks. The path breaks to the left, crossing over a river bed, and ends up at a large rocky wall area, where the rocky ground is relatively flat. Head right to go around the large rock wall, then break left uphill.

From there, it is more or less a fourth class free-for-all up grass, rocks, and loose stones. An exercise in mental fortitude for me. We took the guidebook time of 1 hr 40 min to do the approach, almost exactly, even with a number of wrong turns.

All the routes start with a two-pitch intro (6b / 6a+) to gain a large grassy ledge; they routes diverge there and then join again at the top. The two-pitch intro has old slings and rope tied through some huecos, with a small sitting area.
