Description Suggest change

This is a pretty big area with 28 bolted lines right at the entrance to the gorge on the right hand side (as you drive in). It the first area beyond the Big Dream wall and wraps around and behind it meaning that if the Big Dream is in the sun this area will have some routes in the shade. Some of the routes are down near the stream and they cluster up around the corner on the back side of the wall. Most of the lines are vert and crimpy. It was the site of the Naissus Route Climbing Challenge in 2009. It has routes from 5.10a to 5.13c, with most of the routes being single pitch but 4 2-3 pitch routes.

Getting There Suggest change

There are a number of ways to reach this area but the most straight forward is to hike following a path starting at the Big Dream area. You can park your car in the one spot there or across the road, or further up the canyon, just don't block the road. Follow the cliffline down to the stream and follow a rough climbers trail that crosses the stream multiple times. You will see some bolted lines spaced out on the cliff and the names are usually written next to the lines allowing you to see where you are. The path, which is marked here and there curves up out of the dense forest to the more dry area and a higher density of routes. You will encounter the first bolted line after about 7 minutes and reach the last one in about 15 minutes.
