Description
Tippling Rock is a quiet climbing spot, which rarely sees traffic. This is mainly due to other, more popular areas nearby. This area offers shorter, easy climbs on good rock, as well as ample opportunities for topropping and views of Boston on a clear day.
Getting There
From Sudbury Town Center, take Concord Road south. Take a right on Union Ave. Take another right onto Boston Post Road. After you pass the Whole Foods, look for a dirt pulloff to the right. If you pass the Public Housing entrance, you've gone too far. Hike in about a mile until you see the sign for Tippling Rock. Walk up the wide, rocky trail. Once you reach the wooden steps, turn right off trail to bushwhack below the ledges. Continue up the steps to the summit, and carefully walk to the edge if you wish to toprope, there's plenty of good trees for it.
