Access Issue: Parking is on private property.
Details
Parking and access should not be an issue as long as the car is pulled off the road enough so as to not block any local traffic. Best to contact the Kijabe Forest Trust (kijabeforest.org) via their Facebook page to get advice on parking or access.
Description
A small secluded crag in the boundaries of the Kijabe Forest Reserve. Shaded in the morning with direct sun in the afternoon, but good tree cover and plenty of shade on most routes. There are some water pipes that have been installed by community members near the top and bases of the routes. Please take care not to damage them in any way, as they are providing water to communities below, and we want to keep in their good graces.
Getting There
Taking the A104 out of Nairobi towards Naivasha, turn left at Gichengo and head towards Kijabe Hospital. Follow the road down past Moffat Bible College. Take the second road on the right to a small parking area under a tree. Parking is off a private driveway/dirt road at 0° 56.867'S and 36° 35.530'E. Follow a steep dirt track down hill through the forest, keeping right at the start of the trail. Once you hit an intersection with what used to be an old railroad bed, continue straight across and down the escarpment. After 0.5 miles after leaving the parking, start looking for a small herd path leading up and to the right. The crag is 0.1 miles from that point. This leads to the top of the crag. You can either descend by rappelling off the second big fig tree on the edge of the cliff, or sling the large boulders (make sure to bring long runners and cordelette) if top-roping. You can also walk to the base of the crag if free-ing the routes by accessing a small cleared trail to the far left of the cliff-line (looking out over the valley).
