Description Suggest change

On the south side of Wadi Mujib, just south of the white bridge on Highway 65, is an obvious, roadside crag. As you drive along the highway, it's clear that there is bunches of potential here for trad and sport routes.

As of April 2019, we were told by a Jordanian climbing guide in Amman that no trad climbing had been done on the cliff, but that it was fine to climb there. A few days later, halfway up a route, the adventure center staff showed up with the police and told us it was prohibited to climb on the cliff and that the only legal place to climb in all of Jordan was at their little sport cliff or in Wadi Rum. That was clearly not a true statement, but the police backed the adventure staff folks and said we had to come down. If you decide to go to this area, it might be worth going with a Jordanian climber, who can hopefully smooth things out should you encounter the same situation.
