2. The south end of the First Corridor is in danger of collapsing at the base of Sophie’s Choice. A dam of rocks and soil has been built to divert water away from the eroding soil underneath these huge boulders. Please help keep this system in place until a more permanent solution is implemented.
Description
Originally named Enchanted Rock after the one in Texas this small knob encrusted formation is host to four short, but entertaining sport routes. Enchanted Boulder is shady in summer, sunny in winter, with mixed sun shade in spring and fall
Getting There
Two ways to get there: 1. Take the main trail to the north side, passing Pangaea Wall and First Corridor. Follow the trail up a rocky step past Wounded Warrior and the V Wall. Continue contouring the base of the Tower of Babel toward the Heart Wall. From the Heart Wall the Enchanted Boulder can be seen across the wash to the south.
2. Follow the main trail to the south passing Elephant Head/Hyperion Slab, First Corridor, and The Egg/Hatchery to the ridge. Continue west and down the hill, passing three wooden benches, toward the Heart Wall. Enchanted Boulder is across the wash, on the left, south of the Heart Wall.
