Gluten Free Boulder

Nevada > Southern Nevada > Red Rocks > (18) Windy Peak
Warning Access Issue: Red Rock RAIN AND WET ROCK: The sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when wet. DetailsDrop down

Description

This is a boulder on the approach to the South Face of Windy Peak that happens to have a few good looking lines on it. This may not be worth the ~1500 vertical feet of approach on its own, but If you get blown off Windy Peak and want to climb something fun, its well worth it!

The south side has a moderate trad route up an obvious crack. On the northwest corner is a large steep overhang that may be possible to boulder but looks very hard and is definitely a highball. To the right of that is a protectable 5.6ish corner to the top of the formation.

Getting There

This boulder is on the approach to the south face of Windy Peak. As you gain the terrace look toward Windy Peak and it should be within view. The GPS coordinates should get you to the south side of the boulder.
