Description Suggest change

Extremely sunny crag that is only really climbable on the coldest days of the year, or at night. Several large Saguaro cacti provide a limited amount of shade at the base. The rock is metamorphic and surprisingly good quality for Tucson Mountains, but still beware of loose rocks. Route development began in early 2019 and is still on-going.

Getting There Suggest change

Approach time is 30-45 minutes, but may improve as the trail becomes more obvious. The cliff is located a quarter mile behind (North) of the Gimme Some Dome and is the obvious (tallest) red/gray cliff band. As of 2020 the nearest parking pullout to the cliff has been closed. The approach now begins at the scenic overlook at Gate's Pass. From the lower parking, identify an obvious trail aiming for a saddle between two small hills (above the old house). From here the wall is obvious, and the approach directly approaches the wall. From the saddle, hike down to a pleasant grass-covered clearing. Cross the clearing and follow a cairned trail toward the base of the cliff.
