Description
This small bouldering area is located at the top of Mount Helix in the very tiny Mount Helix County Park. Easy access makes this an ideal spot for a quick workout. While bouldering here, do not block traffic on the road, and stay low key to insure that access to the rocks continues to be allowed. Because of the closeness of these climbs to the road, it is not advisable to bring a crash pad. Most Climbing is located at the Top of Mt. Helix. Another climbing area here is located under the bridge on your way to the top of the mountain; a long difficult traverse warm up will be on both sides of the road from a man made stone wall.
Getting There
How to get there: From Interstate 8 between La Mesa and El Cajon, take the Fuerte Dr. exit. Continue on Fuerte Dr. until just past Lemon Ave. where you take a right turn on Mount Helix Dr. Follow this road to the top of the hill where you will pass through gates to get to the very top. The gates are open during the day and closed at night. Climbs are located around the stage area, but on the road.
