Description Suggest change

The Vilcanota is host to a range of notable mountaineering and alpine climbing just a few hours East of Cusco. Most known to travellers around Cusco for Rainbow Mountain and the Auzangate trek, the whole range is littered with rocks, unclimbed alpine rock/ice as well as Mountain ascents (just look to the Alpine Journal). Some perks of visiting the area include lesser travelled hot springs with incredible views of some of the mountains in the range as well as easy escape from the busy, urban environment of Cusco city life.

Getting There Suggest change

From Cusco one can arrive to one of the cities surrounding the range in a cheap bus in approximately three hours. From here getting into the mountains can be more expensive and less trivial depending on where one desires to make camp.
