Description Suggest change

Thunder Mountain and Slippery Slab Tower are in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, so leave-no-trace and other backcountry best practices apply.

Getting There Suggest change

Get to the PCT from either the Tunnel Lake Trailhead or from the Surprise Creek Trailhead, and then head south on the PCT. From Trap Pass, follow an obvious climber's trail south to the tower. It's a long but entirely doable single-day trip but also a very pleasant overnight trip with plenty of great places to camp.
