Description
Currently there is only one boulder problem in the area (Butterfly Effect) with some small potential for a few more. The one that exists is pretty good. The rock quality of the Granite boulders in this area is generally pretty bad. However, there are a few gems worth mining.
Getting There
From Boise, head east on ID 21 toward Lucky Peak. Take a right (eastbound) on E Springs Shore Road (eventually turns into Arrow Rock Rd which eventually turns into Middle Fork Road). The turn is just after crossing the bridge. Eventually this road will turn to dirt. Shortly after you'll hit a big loop that wraps around a gully. You can see the boulder problem from the west side of the gully (west facing boulder). If you come to the Arrow Rock Damn you've gone a little too far. The pullout to the boulder problem is on the east side of the gully on the east side of the road. Hike down the hill about 100 feet. The boulder is West facing.
