Description
Beaver, UT is a rural city 2.5 hours south of Salt Lake City on I-15 and 1 hour north of Cedar City. Beaver is still unspoiled by tourists, Mc-mansion subdivisions, and luxury second homes. There are just a few developed climbing areas so far but there is a lot of rock waiting for a few local climbers to put the time into scoping and developing some new crags.
East of Beaver are the Tushar Mountains and Eagle Point Ski Area accessed by Beaver Canyon. The Tushars are a little known range in Utah with 11,000 foot peaks and a couple of 12,000 footers as well, a network of Yurts, and some huge back-country ski runs. West of Beaver are the Mineral Mountains, an unexplored and undeveloped area of granite domes and walls with very few routes established. . . so far.
