Getting There
Check out Southwest Missouri Bouldering by Justin Frese - now available climbsource.com/products/so… - Covering over 600 problems and 20 plus areas - it provides detailed instructions for Paddy Creek and more in Mark Twain National Forest. Jeremy Collin's MO Beta is another excellent option.
Slab Town and Boiling Springs area of the Big piney River 37.5559° N, 92.0426° W
Find Lebanon, MO on I44, exit MO 32 and head east. Reset your odometer. After 37 miles you'll hit the town of Roby, MO - turn left and head north on MO-17. At 1.8 miles, take a right onto Slabtown rd at the fork. Go 4.3 miles and turn right onto Paddy Creek road. Go 1.8 miles (pass over big Paddy Creek) and then turn left immediately after into the Paddy Creek campground.
To get to the blocs, hike out of camp and use the lower and upper hiking trails heading south (you can use either)
For Boiling Springs: From Paddy Creek Campground - head north and turn left on Paddy Creek road - head 6.6 miles to MO-32 and turn right, continue for 1.4 miles and turn left on Boiling Springs road (look for the Cross County sign, can't miss it) continue for 3.9 miles and pass over a small creek, parking is on the left.
To get to the Blocs from the parking, hike across the creek - on the right side immediately after is the trail leading up the hill to the boulders.
Both areas are semi - developed and have amazing potential - the sandstone is bullet and the lines are awesome - bring plenty of pads and a desire to explore!
