Description

Nice boulder on the west-facing slope of the Sierra Prieta Mountains, Awesome sunset views.

Getting There

Can be accessed from either Copper Basin Rd. or Thumb Butte Loop. Coming from Copper Basin Rd, turn right onto the Thumb Butte loop, after passing the Sierra Prieta overlook, drive another 1/4 mile and the boulder is visible downslope. There are two decent parking spots on the east side of the road. Walk approximately 1/10th of a mile down the steep slope. It is difficult to turn around at the parking area, but there is a good turnaround just pass the parking area towards Thumb Butte.
