Description
Maine Highlands: Baxter State Park & Surrounding Mountains
The very heart of the state is here, with Baxter State Park, free to all Maine Residents, climbing Katahdin is a rite of passage for all who grow up in Maine. See the appalachian trail hikers in the summer ending their pilgrimage in jubilation atop the summit of Katahdin. See the ice climbers winding their ways up the frozen flows of the cirque in the winter. Remote adventure climbing can be had in the park, and remoteness keeps that feeling very much alive.
