Details
Townsend PD came out because of a concerned neighbor. They said it’s perfectly okay to climb there. Again respect the area. Respect the neighbors.
Description
This is a nice little collection of boulders and exposed rock face. The boulders can be seen from the road especially on a fall day when the leaves have come down. Wooded climbing on gritty monzonitic granite, some is pegmatic. Bring your tape. There are a good smattering of problems starting under overhangs.
Getting There
These boulders are just off of Greenville Rd. in West Townsend. There is space for a few cars to park at the turnaround that is directly at the state line. Walk down the road back into Massachusetts, and hop into the woods on the opposite side of the road from where you park. There are no actual trails but a couple old grown in logging roads, so you’ll have to find the boulders via bushwhacking. They’re visible from the road about 100 yards in. You shouldn’t have any problems finding them.
