Follow existing trails and climb using removable protection or in climbing areas with existing approved fixed anchors or bolts. Development of any new rock climbing, bouldering or rappelling areas and development of any climbing routes involving the permanent installation of new fixed anchors or new trail construction requires prior Forest Service authorization.

Description

Old school trad climbing and a few top rope routes in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Getting There

Park at the Bison Way TrailHead. Hike Bison Way to Sheltowee Trace. Turn left on to Sheltowee Trace and take a user trail on the right to the base of Indian Staircase. Scramble up to the ledge where the Indian Staircase begins and follow the face left to locate the start of the climbs. For the toprope routes scramble up the Indian Staircase and find the tree with a bunch of erosion around it from being used as an anchor. Head towards the edge of the cliff directly beneath and you'll find three glue in bolts. 20m of rope is plenty to extend your master point over the edge from the bolts.
