Description Suggest change

Bolting was initiated by Allied-Petzl and opened to public usage in Feb-2017. There are 8 sport climbing routes (as on Apr-2017). Bolting is fairly good. Basalt rock. Crag is in complete shade till noon and pleasant to climb even in summer mornings. On summer days, things start to boil and bake as the rock gets in the sun. Very good belay stands for all the routes. Although the bolting team has put lot of effort cleaning off the dirt and loose rocks, possibility of breaking a hold while climbing is still there. Climb carefully, both climber and belayer must wear helmet. All the routes have 2 bolts on the top with a maillon in one of the bolts. Anchor is made redundant with a rope sling tied to the bolts. 60m rope is enough to do any of the routes at this crag.

Getting There Suggest change

There are multiple approaches for the site, you can approach from West i.e. Dighe/Airoli side and East i.e. Mumbra/Kausa side. Following is the description for approach from Dighe/Airoli side.
1. Personal vehicle reach this location 19.183260, 73.005025. There's more than enough parking space for a car. There's a unreconstructed road for about half a mile when you reach here. Trail starts at this location.
2. Local transport Nearest train station is Airoli From here take rickshaw, tell the driver to go to the area behind 'Mukund company' OR 'Sandoz' in Dighe area, and show map for the exact location. Nearest bus stop would be Dighe or Dighe Lake or Dighe Naka, take rickshaw from there.
3. Going back (If you've used Local transport or booked a Cab while approaching) It is hard to get the cab/auto right away from the trail's beginning point. But, if you're lucky enough to get a rickshaw, go till the Airoli station or Dighe naka. Otherwise walk around 1.5-2 kms to get closer to the Thane-Belapur road and you can find something.

  • *Nearest hospital is on Thane-Belapur road
Following will be helpful for the approach trail:
(on avg. 20-25 min simple hike)
(Crag will be visible only after hiking up for ~15 mins)
